Holiday Dates

If your company pays extra for employees working on holidays, you may need to enter the holiday dates into your time-and-attendance system. This would be the case if you have

  • a computerized stand-alone calculating time recorder (like an MJR-7000 or MJR-8000), or
  • a Windows-based program that runs on your computer (like PayClock-EZ or TruTime).

Maybe you just want to figure out the best time to take your vacation -- get the most time off while "using" the smallest number of days!

If you need any help at all, please contact us!

Note 1: Easter

"In Canada, Easter is a moveable holiday defined in the 1750 legislation 'An Act for regulating the Commencement of the Year, and for correcting the Calendar now in use' (24 Geo. 2 c. 23). The commonly stated rule, that Easter Day is the first Sunday after the Full Moon that occurs next after the vernal equinox, is somewhat misleading because it is not a precise statement of the Act. Easter is determined by the 'ecclesiastical moon' defined by tables, which differ somewhat from the real Moon. In addition, the vernal equinox is fixed at March 21, not by the actual position of the sun.

"The dates of Easter given here are from the Act, the common date used historically by the western Christian churches since the adoption of the Gregorian calendar."
